Not at Southstreet though, we saw him at the Schaefer Music Festival at Wollman Rink in Central Park in 1971. Bill Withers (lean On Me) was the warm up act. I have pictures in my old photo album taken with my instamatic..remember those flash bars that sat on top? Funny!

McLean didn't tell me to shut up though!leeleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659647396847327564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21876673.post-1156895954759247832006-08-29T19:59:00.000-04:002006-08-29T19:59:00.000-04:00American Pie is not just a great song, but a pheno...American Pie is not just a great song, but a phenominal album.

When I was a young child of five or six, my father took my mother, brother & friend Scott to see Don McClean perform live (solo acoustic) at the South Street Seaport. Just him a bench & his guitar.

My first concert--I'll never forget it. The entire audience brought picnic blankets and sat down for the show.

In the middle of "Starry Starry Night," Don McClean stopped playing and told me and my brother to shut up.Crashtest Comichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04548428734581389272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21876673.post-1156709919755099092006-08-27T16:18:00.000-04:002006-08-27T16:18:00.000-04:00CTC..thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting...CTC..thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting..feel free to sing out loud anytime.
