my bedroom is a Faraday Cage... I would be posting nightly...however the chickenwire in the ceiling won't allow it...so I shall type and send in the morning...

tomorrow is our 26th wedding anniversary...wow...quite an accomplishment..

to be frank we had a it of a bloodletting tonight...probably better to get it out of the way for tomorrow. after 26 years....some stuff has to be said....we did..I believe we are better for it..we shall see

I posted that I lost my voice....but I haven't really.. I post regularly on Facebook...I like the short synopsis of a thought or feeling...however it really doesn't give me the-satisfaction of a blog post.

ahhhhhhh  the freedom....I want to thank those of you who by some happen chance came upon my latest blog entry...I am humbled that you even saw/read it
and
took the time to comment after all this time...you are amazing people and I love you

I'd (sadly) forgotten how much your feedback means to me...and frankly what you mean to me....I'm sorry...and thank you from the bottom of my heart

i'm back in a humble way  HUGS!!!

When I was a small child..I heard a message...a confusing message of family..of they way things ought to be..of love...and of peace....when I was 9 years old, I heard it more loudly..it was about peace...and love... as a young teenager during the Viet Nam War..It screamed at me  PEACE, LOVE... END THE WAR........the cry was from the peace niks...the Christians, the liberals and the hippies...the cry of peace and love.  It came from my parents and their friends who belonged to the Unitarian Church in Montclair NJ...Some of those folks were former Jews who...were survivors of concentration camps who still bared the tatoos of the camps...some were former Catholics..who lost their way with all the rules and regulations..and some ...from the Unitarian church who taught us that all peope were equal, no matter what their faith, their color or their creed...we learned about everyone...but mostly we learned about peace..and love....

.One of my fondest memories was from the late 60's...my Dad..a former Catholic...and a Sunday school teacher as well as a member of the church board, proposed that the church might sing as one of the  hymns...the Burt Bacarach/Dionne Warwick hit...What The World Needs Now..is Love Sweet Love..his words were..."this is what its about now..." truer words were never spoken..and they still ring true today...we sang it..and I have never forgotten that Sunday in Church..I thought we were probably the coolest church in town....I think we were...

I'm weary of debating where the world should be today..the laws..the rights...I feel we have lost out way..its really quite simple...

its about love..it always has been..and if we can get back there..then we will be ok....I love you

Amazing

Put a post out there after too much time and got a comment from one of my earliest blog friends...thanks you S for  commenting HUGS my friend

The sun is almost set here in So Fla...the weather is amazing and I am feeling pretty mellow.  Had some wine.

I was thrilled to see that m.y friend S commented and he is still some what active here...I've forgotten how cathartic this can be...feeling pretty happy about it on this mild south Florida evening. HUGS

It's been a long long long time

Has it ever....been thinking about old friends and what this blog meant to me when I started it.  I am reminded today of the start of the Iraq war 10 years ago and the conversations I had with fellow bloggers back then. And the on going banter that ensued.  I am feeling nostalgic...god not for the war but. The connections I made here. I still have friendships with some. And some are gone. And lord knows I have changed..but if you are a blogger pal and you happen to read this...know that I still think about you all from time to time and I am fond of the memories that we shared in this medium....you all got me through some tough times...and I am happy today that life is good. I am good although older and I hope wiser..  Hoping all is well with you all in blogger land. HUGS...Leelee

2009

Hello Blogland! I can't believe the year is almost over. As with most years this year was filled with up and downs, changes, additions and subtractions. All in all I'd say it was a good year.

Hope you are all fairing well...and maybe in 2010..I will resume some blogging.. if not writing, at least dialing in to you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi Blogger friends...that is if you still consider ME a friend...I've been a bad blogger...no leelee posts for the whole summer. Well I have no good excuse..I've been a lazy blogger but a busy Facebooker. I know, I know...you won't go there to play. Well that's ok...I understand.

Isn't he adorable???? I am spending a lot time with him..as much as I can.... since he is the only grandkid within a 20 mile radius!

Life continues to be good...thanks VE for the nudge..I'm heading over to your place post haste..to say hello. Then I am heading over to all y'alls to say HEY!

Happy 21st Anniversary Babe!

We said we'd walk together baby come what may
That come the twilight should we lose our way
If as we're walkin a hand should slip free
I'll wait for you
And should I fall behind
Wait for me

We swore we'd travel darlin' side by side
We'd help each other stay in stride
But each lover's steps fall so differently
But I'll wait for you
And if I should fall behind
Wait for me

Now everyone dreams of a love lasting and true
But you and I know what this world can do
So let's make our steps clear that the other may see
And I'll wait for you
If I should fall behind
Wait for me

Now there's a beautiful river in the valley ahead
There 'neath the oak's bough soon we will be wed
Should we lose each other in the shadow of the evening trees
I'll wait for you
And should I fall behind
Wait for me
Darlin' I'll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me

Still around...

just not here very often...

I am found most often on Facebook. I like the quick updates and blurbs as opposed to writing a long blog post. Plus many of my "real life" friends and family are there..so its fun to keep in touch.

Time sure does fly!

...in so many ways. The calendar seems to be whizzing right thru..its almost the first day of spring. This is a mixed bag for me. In Florida we revel in the winter. The days are cool, humidity low, windows are open..its great for being outside..enjoying every blue, cloudless sky day.

I don't mind early spring either. The tourists and snowbirds will be leaving around April 15th and we'll have a couple of months of quiet. The roads will be emptier, the restaurants available again and the beaches are less crowded and the weather is still pretty nice.

Once June comes though...the rainy season will begin again. We are in a drought, so its needed, but with rain comes the humidity..and we can pretty much count on 100% humidity until Novemeber. We also start watching the eastward skies and weather. Hurricane watch will really ramp up in August. Hopefully we won't have anything to worry about this year.

The brightest spot in this coming summer will be the arrival of our 8th, yes 8th grandchild in July. We are especially thrilled because my stepdaughter and son in law live about 25 minutes away. So I can really do the grandma thing more often and closer to home.

Its been a great winter, I'm back full swing at the gym and loving it. My family is healthy and happy...Business is good...life is generally FABULOUS. I admit, blogger has taken a back seat to my Facebooking...(sort of like scrapbooking..but not). I just thought once again I would fill you in on my comings and goings...

anyway...HUGS!!

Kitchen Concerts - Bruce Springteen - Working On A Dream

(click title to see the video)
Out here the nights are long, the days are lonely
I think of you and i'm working on a dream
I'm working on a dream
Now the cards i've drawn's a rough hand, darling
I straighten the back and i'm working on a dream
I'm working on a dream
Come on!

I'm working on a dream
Though sometimes it feels so far away
I'm working on a dream
And i know it will be mine someday
Rain pourin' down, i swing my hammer
My hands are rough from working on a dream
I'm working on a dream
Let's go!

I'm working on a dream
Though trouble can feel like it's here to stay
I'm working on a dream
Well our love will chase trouble away
Alright!

I'm working on a dream
Though it can feel so far away
I'm working on a dream
Our love will make it real someday
The sun rise up, i climb the ladder
The new day breaks and i'm working on a dream
I'm working on a dream
I'm working on a dream
I'm working on a dream
Hey!

I'm working on a dream
Though it can feel so far away
I'm working on a dream
Our love will make it real someday
I'm working on a dream
Though it can feel so far away
I'm working on a dream
And our love will make it real someday
