What's New

Well....it's a new year..and time for new beginnings. Don't you love when you get the chance to start fresh? I do.

I've been somewhat absent from the blog-o-sphere. Reading not commenting...falling behind in my correspondence and participation. All for good reason...I'm busy...Yes..actually busy! and the holidays pretty much drained me of conversation.

Also business has picked up (some..not enough). Hubby and I are preparing for the one big show we do. The Original Miami Beach Antique Show..which will open Jan.22 We are hoping to make some good sales. Business is bad for everyone these days and the art market has taken a hit..but we shall persevere..we've been at this for many years.

We've also been trying to get to the movies..I love going to the movies and there have been some good ones out there. See Gran Torino and Slumdog Millionaire for starters..both excellent.

I've also joined a gym again. I use to be a real gym rat...but for one reason or another I let that go..Oh I still walk and bike and keep active, but..I needed MORE.. so I've returned to the world of free weights, machines and elliptical trainers. I love it..and didn't realize how much I missed it. A couple of GF's and I signed up at Anytime Fitness and have enrolled in their "I lost it at the gym" competition. 8 weeks of classes, bootcamp and access to the gym...24/7. When we complete this..we're planning on a girls getaway to the Bahamas in early spring. Oh yeah I'm psyched.

Well, that's more information than I have ever written here I think..just felt the need to keep you all updated...I'll be 'round to visit you all soon.

As always HUGS!!

HAPPY 2009...

You seem to be grounded in what you want and need to do...that is fantabulous!

I have been away from the gym for 3 weeks since hurting my back and it is not a good thing...pants are feeling more --- ummmm --- snug!

Thanks Vinny, I figure by the time one makes it to 50...she/he should know when to take action. I'm feeling great!

Sorry about your back...that can definitely keep you out of teh gym, and for good reason I might add. You need to heal.

Thanks for stopping by..and

HUGS!!

Your gym is WAY classier than mine.

MY gym also has periodic "I Lost It At The Gym" contests. But at MY gym, past contests have been about:

1) Who freaks out due to "Roid Rage" and pummels somebody first;

2) Who can prove they lost their virginity in the locker room first;

3) Who can confirm they were the first to have their wallet or purse stolen.

Mine might be classier Pug, but yours sounds way more exciting...sounds like a reality show!

Looks like your year is off to a good start and in the right direction.
Going to a gym might be fun for you, but to me, lifting something up then putting it back back down sounds more like indecision than exercise.

Hi LeeLee, hope the show goes over well. Good on you for going to the gym, though from the pictures I've seen you look pretty terrific already. Doesn't hurt to get exercise though, keep the blood flowing. Drop by when you get a chance, I'd love to see you!!

Ha NYD - that's a view I've never considered. I have decided owever to get more fit..and so far after a week (of pain) I see and feel a difference!

Phos - thanks for the kind words. Its about maintaining for me..and perhaps targeting a few "trouble" spots. I will drop by your place..

HUGS!!
