What music are you playing in your car??

You may or may not know that I am an XM Satellite radio junkie. One of the best things about being an adult is being able to afford factory installed XM radio in my whip.

However, while I have 24 hour endless commercial free music in my car..I occasionally want to pop in a CD. At the present time I have about 6 CD's. Thats all that will fit in my console. Here are my choices at the present time:

  • Bruce Springsteen - Magic
  • Joe Jackson - Jumpin' Jive
  • Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
  • Grateful Dead - Dicks Picks #15 - Englishtown NJ, September 3, 1977 ( I was at this concert so I am sure I hear myself in the applause)
  • Robert Plant & Alison Krause - Raising Sand
  • Joni Mitchell - The Hissing Of Summer Lawns
What music are YOU listening to when you are driving?

Elena Jane - It's a great CD..pretty mellow which is good when you have small children in the car (you do..I don't) or in traffic...or...you just want to chill. I like it.

I keep threatening to get XM, but haven't done it yet.

Normally I'm listening to my iPod through one of those fancy "listen to your iPod through you car's stereo" things. Otherwise I'm listening to sports talk radio and yelling at the idiot on the radio. ;-)

I like to listen to chainsaw melodies of famous patriotic songs

I like to listen to Peter, Paul and Mary - unplugged

I like to listen to heavy metal polka

I like to listen to the In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida ring tone

I like to listen to "Songs that have been ruined for commericals - The Best of" collection

I burn my own discs and keep about thirty or so of them in the car. They are all unlabled so I never know what to expect fom any particular disc.

I'm a traffic beatnik, I guess. So - dressed in black - I simply light a votive candle and place it on my dash, and then I listen for the random musings and expressions of by fellow motorists.

nyd - I like that idea..random selections are the best..and since we share similar music tastes I have no doubt that your whip is always rockin'

OMG Vinny....how awesome is that...

the question is though...how do you find time to work and enjoy your life (which you do so well) when you are switching out 16 gbs of music each week..

Color me impressed..
