and this fit the bill nicely...
SUNDAY AFTERNOON QUICKIE
The only way to pull off a Sunday afternoon quickie with their 8 year old in the apartment was to send him out on the balcony with a Popsicle and tell him to report on all the neighborhood activities.
He began his commentary as his parents put their plan into operation, "There's a car being towed from the parking lot," he shouted. A few moments passed... "An ambulance just drove by." A few moments later," Looks like the Anderson’s have company," he called out. "Matt's riding a new bike...." A few moments later, "Looks like the Sanders are moving." "Jason is on his skate board...." A few more moments, "The Coopers are having sex!!"
Startled, his Mother and Dad shot up in bed! Dad cautiously called out, "How do you know they are having sex?"
"Jimmy Cooper is standing on his balcony with a Popsicle too."
As I said, I needed a joke today..and check out latest Boudreaux installment over at Serena's Blog. I'm smilin' now... :-D

WHO IS JACK SCHITT ????
For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt?
We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, 'You don't know Jack
Schitt!' Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an
intellectual way.
Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer
magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They
had one son, Jack.
In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple
produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull
Schitt, and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.
Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high
school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt
divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and because her kids
were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was
then known as Noe S chitt Sherlock.
Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with
a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt.
Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were
inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens
brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper
announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children were
Dawg, Byrd, and Horse.
Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently
returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.
Now when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt,' you can correct
them.
Sincerely,
Crock O. Schitt

Laughing and crying, you know it's the same release...
This is a line from one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs "People's Parties"..
This morning my husband made me laugh so hard that I was crying, I my sides ached and I could hardly catch my breath. I needed badly to laugh like that and it's amazing the restorative powers that laughing that hard can have, it has completely turned my day around.
I am a happy person, I know, you thought I was one of those dark emo types, but I'm not. I love to laugh (ha ha ha haaaa) and I need to laugh, to lift me out of a mope, and I have been a tad mopey lately.
Thank god for you dear readers as well who continuously bring a smile to my face.
In any case..I hope you laugh long and loud and clear today...this might help you along:

My blog...my own little corner of the universe.
I don't share my blog with my family or even my friends..it's like I have my own little space to just be leelee, warts and all. I mean, it's not a secret blog...I talk about it and even show my husband and daughter bits and pieces or regale stories..but they don't (to my knowledge) go and read it on their own. I've never sent the address to old friends or family members.
It's not that I don't want them to..it's more about a place where I can just be leelee..not wife, not Mom, not even "best friend".
I'm wondering...do you share your blog with friends and family? If you do, does it prevent you from writing what you truly want? Would you have to have a "different persona" if you knew your family was reading it? Can you just be you?
Just wondering.

TGIF!!
I'm really glad it's friday...I don't know why but I am simply exhausted and look forward to just relaxin' and chillaxin' this weekend...perhaps lounging by my pool or catching a breeze by the beach. Either way I look forward to immersing myself in a book.
I wanted to finish out the week with a giggle.... so here are some puns that will have you smiling...no matter how corny they are..
:-)
* I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.
* Police were called to a daycare where a three-year-old was resisting a rest.
* Did you hear about the guy whose whole left side was cut off? He's all right now.
* The roundest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference.
* To write with a broken pencil is pointless.
* When fish are in schools, they sometimes take debate
Hope you all have a lovely weekend...HUGS!!

Imagine
How can one be pro-life and not be anti-war too?
If you believe in protecting innocent human life how can you not be outraged by the stories of car bombs that kill hundreds each week? Are those people in the markets not worthy enough? How can one not be outraged by this endless war..and our soldiers dying.
Why do I get anti-abortion emails and not anti-war?
Why do I see bumper stickers for pro-life messages..and not pro-peace on the same car?
I just don't see how anyone can be both.
"You may say that I'm a dreamer, But I'm not the only one"
Imagine..peace..Imagine...then do.

Assumptions
Assumption
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An assumption is a proposition that is taken for granted, in other words, that is treated for the sake of a given discussion as if it were known to be true.
In logic, more specifically in the context of natural deduction systems, an assumption is made in the expectation that it will be discharged in due course via a separate argument.

I make assumptions too often and I need to work on that..I'm putting this on my blog as a validation and to be accountable...if I actually publish this, then perhaps I will think twice before I do it again..
Ok this is weird...but I needed to do it.. :-)

The road is long,With many a winding turn…
Saturday May 12, 9:30 am
Isn’t it ever…so many twists and turns, life certainly has a way of staying interesting. There are so many lessons and signs from the universe to pay attention to, it’s rather humbling. If you think you've got it all figured out....you've got another thing coming..
My hubs and I were supposed to be in California right now, actually we would be in Carmel today. We are not.
Last weekend we found ourselves in a perfect storm of sorts. A perfect storm of emotions, events and small crisises. Not with us, but with our 3 daughters. All 3 at the same time!!!! I'll not go into details..but..pre-wedding stresses, home buying and selling and the general malaise of an 18 year old all played a part in the decision to postpone our trip. We simply could not..no WOULD not go so far away with our family in such disarray. We could never have relaxed enough to enjoy ourselves.
Instead, we spent last Sunday putting out some small fires and working through some things and then decided to drive to NC on MOnday to assist my step daughter (Hub’s daughter) and her family find a house. She and her husband have 6 children. They needed to sell their home and move to a more desirable area. They FINALLY found a buyer for their home…and now needed desperately to find another home…quickly. Happy to report…with all of our heads and energy put together..we found one.. and if all contiues to go well they should be able to close on both properties and move by month’s end..YES THIS MONTH!! Whew! To say the stress level was high would be an understatement…but as usual, cooler heads prevailed and we were able to assist them.
Was I disappointed that at the last minute I had to cancel my much anticipated vacation? YOU BET I WAS..but I knew in my heart of hearts that we needed to make a difference in these kids lives..and as the universe would have it..we are in the position to do so.
So instead of touring California, we got the opportunity to spend a couple of days with our beautiful grandchildren, help out our family who was in need and we even snuck in a side trip to Charleston, SC on our return trip home. I got my shrimp ‘n grits fix (seek this out…if you have never had this fantastic southern dish). Saw some beautiful old Southern homes looking out over Charleston Harbor. Took some pictures…Picked up a good supply of Pecans and pralines and generally had quite a lovely time despite the trip’s auspicious beginnings.
We’ll get to California, of this I am sure, it just wasn’t it the cards for this moment in time.
As we we’re driving southbound on 95 yesterday, my stepdaughter called to say that their offer was accepted..they can close and move by months end. The jubilation my hubs and I felt was palpable…
We done good…and we couldn’t be happier.
